I’ve been to Seminyak a few times as a tourist, and I really love the vibe — lots of cafes, shops, and not too far from the beach. Now I’m considering buying a small apartment there as a mix of investment and vacation use. But has it become too expensive and overbuilt?

I actually bought one in early 2024 and I still think apartments in Seminyak are one of the best value-for-location options in Bali. Yes, it’s more developed than places like Canggu or Uluwatu, but that’s also a benefit — the infrastructure is much better. I got a fully furnished 1-bedroom in a modern complex 10 minutes from Double Six Beach for just under $120,000. Rents well on Airbnb — I’m seeing 70–80% occupancy most months, especially if you offer cleaning and airport pickup. What you do need to watch out for is zoning — make sure it’s legal for foreign ownership and short-term rental. Traffic is the only downside here, but if you're not commuting every day, it’s fine. You’re close to everything — beach, dining, nightlife — and that’s what keeps this area so attractive.
